A Wet’suwet’en First Nation from Houston, B.C., currently working with the Upper Fraser Fisheries Conservation Alliance (UFFCA), Fraser River Aboriginal Fisheries Secretariat (FRAFS), and since 2004, a Negotiator on the Fraser Panel, Pacific Salmon Treaty. Marcel has been in and around Fraser Salmon issues for 17 years. He is also a long-standing member of the Pacific Fisheries Resource Conservation Council (PFRCC). Marcel has a strong interest in conflict, particularly protracted, identity-based conflicts dealing with natural resources, and in finding effective ways to approach cross-cultural conflicts. Brenda Kortekaas is the Community of Practice Coordinator for Delaney and Associates Inc. She developed her business, organizational and interpersonal skills during her career in various catering and supervisory positions in major hotels and restaurants in Canada. The fast-paced and changing environment of the hotel and restaurant business also has given Brenda the ability to work under pressure, identifying and solving problems quickly.
