Training Update: New Public Facilitation Course Coming

We are so pleased to congratulate the BC Ministry of Health, Patients as Partners (PasP), for winning the IAP2 Organization of the Year Core Values Award at the recent 2016 IAP2 North American Conference. Shannon Holms, Director, Patient Engagement and Community Programs, accepted the award on behalf of Patients as Partners, which was recognized for its patient and family engagement excellence. D+A is proud to be recognized as a PasP partner. We have been delivering IAP2 and D+A engagement training to PasP for the past six years.

There continues to be good demand for IAP2 Foundations training. We consider this to be a very positive indicator for the growth of public participation capacity in Canada. The brand new IAP2 Canada Certification Program accounts in part for this demand. The Foundations in Public Participation program is a requirement of the process leading to the new professional designation of public participation professional.

All IAP2 members in good standing who have completed the five-day IAP2 Foundations in Public Participation (formerly Certificate course) are eligible to apply for certification. The first Canadian Assessment Centre will be held in Calgary on Nov. 19-20. For more information, please click here.

Engage Delaney’ next Foundations program is in Toronto, from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2. Our full public training schedule can be seen here.

By popular demand, D+A is offering its first-ever public Facilitating Engagement workshop. We have delivered this workshop many times over the past several years, to a wide variety of organizations. Our IAP2 participants have been asking for this training to further their public participation skills – notably to facilitate the sophisticated engagement designs of which they are now capable.

We are happy to offer this two-day workshop in Vancouver, June 6-7, 2017. Please call our course registrar, Valerie, at 613-837-5890, for more information. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for more info.
